Lumi — Plan Your Ride Home · Last updated: 1 June 2026
Lumi has no account, no server of its own, and does not collect, sell, or share your personal data. Almost everything stays on your device.
What we collect
Nothing is collected by us. Lumi has no backend, no analytics, no advertising, and no login. We — the developer — never receive your data.
Information stored on your device
The following is stored only on your phone and is never uploaded to us:
- Plans you create — the date/time window and, for each plan, a home address (label + coordinate), your chosen ride option (or a taxi number), and up to two trusted contacts (name + phone number, copied when you pick them).
- Parking spot (a saved location), if you use “Where’s my car”.
- App settings (reminder / check toggles).
You can delete this at any time by deleting a plan, clearing the saved parking spot, or uninstalling the app.
Permissions and how they’re used
- Location — to set/confirm your home address, remember where you parked, provide transit/walking directions, and (optionally) the movement reminder. Used on your device; not stored on any server of ours.
- Contacts — only to let you pick trusted people; we copy just the chosen name and phone number into local storage. We never read your address book otherwise and never message anyone automatically.
- Notifications — for your morning-after reminder, safe-arrival check, and the ongoing “plan active” reminder.
When information leaves your device
Lumi has no server, but two features use third-party services directly from your device:
- Address lookup (geocoding): when you search an address or use your current location, the coordinate or text you type is sent to your device’s operating-system geocoder (Google on Android, Apple on iOS) to return an address. Handled by the OS, not by us.
- Map tiles: the small map preview loads images from OpenStreetMap.
These requests are subject to the privacy policies of Google, Apple, and the OpenStreetMap Foundation respectively. Lumi sends them no account identifier and stores none of their responses on any server.
Contacting people
Lumi never contacts anyone automatically. If you use the safe-arrival check, the app prepares a message you must review and send yourself. We deliberately do not use any automatic SMS capability.
Children
Lumi is not directed to children.
Changes
We may update this policy; the “last updated” date will change accordingly.
